Friendly Reminder To Participate In The Study On Governance And Ethics In Projects

This is a friendly reminder to participate in the study on governance and ethics in projects. The survey will close soon.

Goal of this study is to identify possible ethical issues in projects and investigate their possible linkage to specific project governance structures. The results of the study will give practitioners better insight in avoidance of upcoming ethical issues in projects through better governance.

As a compensation we offer a summary of the study results to those participants who indicate their interest after submitting the questionnaire.

With this email we would like to invite you to participate in a worldwide study on project governance and ethics. Objective of the study is to identify possible ethical issues in projects and identify their link to specific project governance structures.

PMAC Announcements Message

Seneca College, through PMAC-AGPC, is looking for a volunteer well versed in Agile methodology to sit on a Project Management - IT Advisory Committee which would meet at most twice a year and also someone to help develop a course that is almost purely Agile in topics and to review the rest of the courses where they have embedded Agile topics to see if they have done so correctly. The first intake for the graduate certificate will be in Sept. 2012 so there is not much time left.

PMAC-AGPC Annual General Meeting Reminder

This is a reminder that the AGM will be held tomorrow, Sunday February 26, in Toronto via Skype and in person. We invite all members to join us and vote on issues of importance to the organization. The AGM will be from 1:30 - 4:00 pm Toronto time.

If you want to attend in person, (there is no cost) it will be held at:

New Years Resolutions

Well, it’s that time of the year when we make resolutions to improve ourselves. So, if you are looking for ways to improve your project management skills and help your fellow PMAC members here are some resolutions you should consider:

1. Volunteer for PMAC. Help your fellow members by working with the Board to improve project management in Canada. Whatever your passion, we have a position for you.
- Do you want to improve your writing skills - volunteer to write the newsletters;
- Want to improve your speaking skills - give a speech at the AGM or develop training workshop in your field. There are several of us that are project management training providers and we can help you develop your skill.
- Like to organize events - work on organizing the AGM;
- Like helping junior project managers - get involved with Young Crew.
- Like to meet and greet - you could get involved with ProjectWorld in Vancouver / Toronto / Halifax.

We have members across Canada and it is difficult organizing everyone, along the lines of herding cats, so we need volunteers in all areas of the country. Become involved in your organization and help other project managers. In fact run for office!Elections will be held during the AGM. It doesn’t matter where you live in Canada, you can be a board member or a volunteer. Current Board members / volunteers are from Edmonton, Vancouver, Regina, Toronto, Europe, and the Middle East. 2. How about resolving to improve your project management skills by getting your IPMA Level D certification! To this end PMAC-AGPC and Proportion Training have posted new 2012 dates for the Level D workshop. The first one is in Toronto on January 16-20, 2012.
